travel europe germany schleswig holstein bad schwartau around the town

Sereetz, where I lived for five weeks with the Stolle family as an exchange student chaperone, is a suburb of Bad Schwartau.
Bad Schwartau, although seemingly a "modern" town, it still has a lot of historical German charm.
It was close enough to Sereetz that I could bicycle into town quite easily along a bike path.

Beautiful spa near Bad Schwartau, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, 1994.
Here, I had my first exposure to "cultural differences."
At first it was difficult for me to understand how these very "formal" Germans could let down their hair
and share the intimacies of nakedness when they went to the spa, or to the beach.
Once I got past the Puritanism of my upbringing, it didn't seem odd at all.
